Mays Ibrahim

BScFN, DDEPT, RD

Hey there! My name is Mays and I have been a Registered Dietitian for just over 3 years now. I graduated from the Brescia University College (Western University, London, ON, Canada) with an Honors Specialization in Nutrition and Dietetics (HBSc).

As a clinical and community dietitian, I have had the privilege to work in diverse groups of the population including the geriatric population, indigenous populations, and individuals living with chronic illnesses. Throughout my career, I have always felt that the profession is lacking some of the cultural aspects related to the Middle Eastern diet and perspectives on nutrition. In 2018, I decided to become an entrepreneur and start my own nutrition practice, Colourful Nutrition, with a goal to provide an inclusive environment that is evidence based with expert nutritional counseling services that supports and empowers individuals to make sustainable lifestyle changes and build positive relationships with food without giving up on their cultural cuisine. My main focus is Middle Eastern food (since this is the food I grew up with) though as a foodie, I enjoy recipes from various cultures. At the end of the day, all foods fit in a healthy diet.

I hope you find the content that I create helpful and applicable to your daily lives!

As always, have a Colourful Day!
