Jenni Lee

MS, ’20; NDTR

Hi everyone!

My name is Jenni and I am a bilingual dietetic intern. I just finished my fall rotations (food service management and community rotations) and will be starting my spring rotations after winter break!

As a first generation Korean immigrant who’s also a first generation college graduate, my family has taught me the importance of hard work and perseverance. Currently in the dietetics community, there are about 5% of dietetic professionals that have an Asian descent background. During one of my fall rotations, I found there was a lack of diversity in the entire district. Having observed this experience, I hope to increase diversity in dietetics by becoming a registered dietitian. In the future, I would like to provide mentorships to BIPOC nutrition students/interns and work to increase cultural competence and diversify dietetics.
